I am a native to Alliance and graduated in 2004 from AHS. During my time in High School I had various jobs, but helping people was always where I found myself. As a young child I remember helping elders in my neighborhood whether it be laundry or cleaning. At age 16 I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and then went on to bec
I am a native to Alliance and graduated in 2004 from AHS. During my time in High School I had various jobs, but helping people was always where I found myself. As a young child I remember helping elders in my neighborhood whether it be laundry or cleaning. At age 16 I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and then went on to become a Medication Aide (MA). I worked at Good Samaritan, Marian Residence, and Home Health before heading off to college to become a License Practice Nurse (LPN). I graduated as an LPN in 2007 and continued to work in Long Term Care and also started work at the local Urgent Care in North Platte, Nebraska. In 2010, I went back to school for my Registered Nursing Degree. After this I went on to work in Dialysis (Inpatient and Outpatient) and then on to Nebraska Heart Institute. In 2015, I returned home to marry the love of my life- also an Alliance native. I began working at Box Butte General Hospital (BBGH) as the Dialysis Nurse Manager. I continued my education at this time and obtained a bachelor's in Nursing in 2017 and continued in this position until completing my Master's in Nursing in 2019. I became a Family Nurse Practitioner and moved into a new role at The Greater Nebraska Medical and Surgical Services (GNMSS) family practice clinic, in 2019. I decided to add this new adventure when my patients started to inquire about hormone health and options for treatment. As I started referring patients outside the community for certain treatment options I felt it would be a great addition to our community to bring more services here. A few months after graduating she married her husband, Mike. Together they have two children that keep them busy with all their activities. They enjoy golfing, camping, and a little two-on-two basketball in their driveway.
Joni has 15 years health care experience. Her hospital experience ranges from nursing assistant to a nurse manager. The past few years she has been subbing as a school nurse, in a primary care clinic, and consulting in rural health care and developmentally disabled adults.
